Ferro Phosphorous

Ferro Phosphorous

Ferro Phosphorus, a combination of phosphorus with iron, is used as an ingredient in high-strength low-alloy steel and is used as a good dehydrating agent that can remove water during the alloy formation. Addition of Ferro Phosphorous to steel alloys imparts many desirable properties upon the new alloy. Addition of Ferro Phosphorous to an alloy prevents oxidation and the later rusting of metals. Ferro Phosphorous is a byproduct of the steel making process, as when pig iron is being converted, the conversion process will trim Ferro Phosphorous from the top of the slag.
