A dome cap nylock nut, also known popularly as prevailing torque type hexagon domed cap nut, is a type of lock nut (with a non metallic insert) with a dome like cap on top of it.
The four-equispaced projections are of equal height and size allowing for a properly balanced and positioned weld. Square weld nuts require appropriate resistance welding equipment for attachment.
