A threaded rod, also known as a stud, is a relatively long rod that is threaded along the complete length (or just on both the ends). They are designed to be used in tension. Threaded rod in bar stock form is often called all-thread.

 

They are primarily used in plumbing, construction, contracting and maintenance applications. Threaded rods are used to join together and stabilize objects and structures made of wood, metal & concrete.
